"Dodo"
Singer Boo Hewerdine and his bandmates may have had their creative heyday 14 and 12 years ago, respectively, with albums like 'Walking The Ghost Back Home' and 'Eureka', creating somewhat idiosyncratic but wonderful guitar pop that sought to combine late Beatles harmonies with Americana sounds.
After two albums and relatively modest success, the band broke up. In 1993, Hewerdine & Co. finally yielded to the persistent requests from various labels and reunited. Following successful tours, a new album was recorded in 1994, but it was never released due to internal disputes and the dissatisfaction of the new label.
If you can imagine a mix of bands like Prefab Sprout and more moderate US alternative acts with a subtle country influence then you should give this a listen.
